PLANNING AND PREPARATION

Communicating with Video

Address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and resources

Recording 4.mp4 Google Drive.png

Using We-video, I created a small lesson teaching students how to balance chemical reactions. This program would provide a quick, easy way to create new learning experiences for diverse learners. It would also allow students who need additional time to watch and go back over lesson details to review lessons outside of the classroom.

Who is Paying Attention?

Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

The PlayPosit website allows you to choose any video, whether original or from another source, and add questions at points where you choose. Students have to be paying attention during the entire video, because they don't know when they will be expected to answer a question.  The PlayPosit format keeps video alive and engaging and allows for assessment throughout its format.

Design of Cellular Respiration Lab with Vernier Lab Equipment

Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity

With the guidance of a mentoring educator, I modified and implemented a lab using the Vernier lab system with the Labquest2 interface. I altered an existing lab procedure to include the proper use of the Labquest2 interface. I also tested and verified the effectiveness of the Vernier lab probes and system in collecting data for a cellular respiration experiment. Finally, I assisted student groups in AP Biology at Marquette Senior High School in completing and understanding the lab.
