THE CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT
Building Rapport with a Digital Mood Thermometer
Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes

The Answer Garden website allows you to pose a question to the entire class and see all of their responses. It can be used to gauge the mood and feelings of the students before starting a new day of learning. It is a good tool for monitoring students' emotions without asking each one individually. It also allows students to share their true feelings without revealing who is responding. I think this will allow better rapport in the classroom with less intrusiveness.

Create and Manage Assignments Through Google Classroom
Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning

Google Classroom is a great way to create and disseminate assignments. It also allows for instant grade distribution and collaborative projects.Teachers can use Google classroom to communicate with students and parents. I created a sample Google classroom and practiced using the platform to create assignments.

Organizing Physical Space
Safety and Accessibility
I have completed the Flinn Scientific Lab Safety Course for science teachers. After organizing and implementing a few wet labs this semester, I am even more aware of how important laboratory safety can be in a small room with over 20 students. Little details in the organization of a lab set-up can make a large difference in the safety of the lab procedure. Students need frequent reminders to keep them focused on safety and accuracy.
Demonstrate Proper Citation Procedures
Advocate, model, and teach safe, legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of sources

There are many tools to aid students in properly citing original works to avoid copyright issues. Vericite and Cite this for me are the two I worked with this semester. It is important to teach students that part of responsible internet citizenship requires properly citing sources.
